The theory behind the Pro Points plan is that ‘not all foods are created equal.’  By giving each type of food or meal a points rating as well as offering consumers a Daily Allowance of points (based on gender, age and current weight) these give an easy to understand guideline to stick too. The Weight Watchers online plan however also gives you a safety net in the form of Weekly Allowance points. These can be  saved up for a special occasion, blown on an impromptu dinner with friends or spread evenly across the week to allow for bigger portions each day, once again showing how flexible the program can be.

The point values of food reflect how the actual food is processed by the body and the impact it will have on your weight loss. Additionally, they reflect what the food contains in regards to carbohydrates, protein, fat and fiber levels, which all contribute to its ProPoints value. The ProPoint plan allows you to choose the foods you enjoy and apply them to your budget, offering a more flexible but still healthy way to create a meal plan.
